True. But enter the “experience vs memory” debate. If you took a vacation but you wouldn’t remember a single thing afterwards, what would you do and where would you go? What if you couldn’t take any photos? I have a bad memory myself and find stopping to document something via a photo helps me pause for things that are special to me, and provides me with something to jog my memory and let me relive the wonder and beauty when I’m home. And frankly that is the most valuable part of travel for me- the memories I cherish the rest of my life.
